Our Mission & Vision

Vision

Our vision, in dependence on God, is to have in 5 years a sustainable ministry team and a variety of ministries that will give the congregation of Queanbeyan Presbyterian Church (QPC) the opportunity to serve and reach out to the community.

Goals towards a sustainable ministry team:

  1. By 2026 to have a sustainable long term ministry at QPC
  2. By 2028 to have elders appointed from within QPC
  3. By 2028 to organise the appointment of a PY intern or Metro intern
Mission

Our mission is to achieve our vision by Reflecting Christ, Refreshing Believers and Reaching Friends.

Reflecting Christ:

To reflect Christ means, because of God’s love to us,that QPC will aim to be a loving community that welcomes, accepts and engages with all types of people from all walks of life as Jesus did.

How we do this is…

  • By consistently proclaiming and sharing God’s Word faithfully at all QPC’s gatherings.
  • By praying for the work of the Spirit within the lives of the church family at the Sunday Service, prayer meetings and Bible study groups.
  • By regular pastoral visits to all the church family, at least twice a year, with the aim of encouraging them in their Christian walk and strengthening their connection and commitment to QPC.
  • By visiting all the congregation within the next 6 months to share the Vision and the Mission.

Refreshing Believers:

To refresh believers means, because the Holy Spirit has given gifts to his people, that the leadership will provide QPC with a variety of opportunities to grow and serve others by connecting believers to different groups and ministries.

How we do this is…

  • By valuing and developing ministries that meet the current and future needs of QPC, such as Children’s and Youth ministries.
  • By making the church family aware of the different groups and ministries available at QPC by interviewing individuals from these groups within the next 6 months.
  • By conducting a ministry course, using the Ministry Papers, once a semester to refresh and equip believers for different ministries.
  • By informing the church family of conferences and other events that would encourage them in their Christian life.

Reaching Friends:

To reach friends means, because of Christ’s love to us, that believers will develop genuine loving relationships with neighbours, friends and families so that they can share the Gospel in words and works.

How we do this is…

  • By interviewing QPC people who are undertaking ministry opportunities outside the church family that will challenge us to think beyond ourselves.
  • By inviting guest speakers, either to Church or the Bible study groups, to develop a culture that is outward looking and not just focused on our own needs.
  • By conducting outreach events, such as Alpha, presence at the Queanbeyan show, Easter,Kids’ Club, Christmas, etc, so that believers have an opportunity to invite their friends.
  • By equipping believers to pray for 5 people that they want to know better and be given the opportunity to share the gospel with, within 6 months. (Using For the People You Love (5 Things To Pray Series)
  • By investigating the needs of the community and by developing ministries that would serve the community and point people to Christ.
