The Queanbeyan Christmas Tree Festival at the Queanbeyan Presbyterian Church was a resounding success, embodying the warmth and joy of the Christmas season. Over 40 uniquely decorated Christmas trees, each representing different facets of our community, turned the church into an enchanting holiday display.
Engaging Activities for All Ages: A highlight for our younger guests was the chance to make handmade badges and decorate their own Christmas tree, fostering creativity and making the festival a truly family-friendly event.
Special Visitors and Tailored Experiences: We were honored to welcome residents from George Forbes House and Warrigal Nursing Home. Their visit on Friday included a special service, a tour of the Christmas trees, and a pleasant tea time, creating a memorable experience for our valued senior community members.
The Heart of the Festival: The Queanbeyan Christmas Tree Festival is not just an exhibition of holiday decor but a celebration of community, creativity, and the true meaning of Christmas. Each tree, with its unique theme and decorations, told a story, enriching our understanding and appreciation of the festive season.
Reflecting on the Festival’s Impact: Merran, one of the attendees, shared her experience:
“It’s such a great way to represent the lead up to and birth of Jesus”
Merran Toone (Visitor from the Queanbeyan community)
Her words echo the sentiment of many who attended, highlighting the festival’s role in bringing the true spirit of Christmas to life.
A Memorable Carol Service: The festival was further brightened by the Carol Service, led by the Queanbeyan Brass Band. Over 300 people visited throughout the week, drawn in by the festive music, the community atmosphere, and the stunning visual display.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who participated in and visited the festival. Your presence and enthusiasm made this event a meaningful and joyous celebration of Christmas.
For those who missed it or wish to revisit the magic, we’ve attached photos capturing the beauty and spirit of the festival.
As we look forward to future events, we carry with us the joy and unity exemplified by this year’s Christmas Tree Festival in Reflecting Christ, Refreshing Believers and Reaching our Friends.
